About

I grew up in a multicultural household in a military family. I’ve always loved being mobile, traveling and meeting new people, but my kids ruined that for me. Now, I have everything I’ve never wanted – a steady relationship, a stable job, health insurance and a checking account.

Chicago has been my home for the last 13 years. Raising children is difficult, but choosing to raise them in an urban setting sets you up for challenges that you’re never quite ready to handle. The reason I chose to start this blog is to give a candid view of being an urban modern day mother and woman. Regardless of what I may post in the upcoming days, I will admit that I love my family and I couldn’t be happier. Many people will ask me,”Then, why would you ever denounce or degrade your children in public this way?”

My response? Payback is a bitch.

Making babies is not the only thing I have done or that holds my interest. I started The Windy City Rollers, an all female flat track roller derby league. I work for a City Council member, but with my luck, I got the boy scout, not the kind that has dirty exchanges in the back rooms of  City Hall. I’m a writer, a photographer, and an artist – I guess. I never like to say that because all those words sound like I’m super cool, but I’m not. Hey! But, you’re reading about me, so I assume you’re just as uncool.

I hope you like sarcasm, the absurdity of life and my blog. Thank you for taking the time to read me.

Humbly,

One Bad Momma
